I may get flak for this, but it’s true. Philadelphia is not known for it’s BBQ. Homegrown options are limited but that’s okay.

What we lack in tradition we make up for in style. BBQ style. We’re talking everything from Korean, Texas, Kansas City, and even Native American to name a few. Being the City of Neighborhoods, this makes total sense. You don’t have to travel far to find exactly what you’re looking for or discover something new.

To celebrate here’s a top 5 list from a few of our favorite neighborhoods.

South Philly
Barbacoa South Philly – The food is unreal. You’ll find a pairing of traditional barbacoa meats paired with authentic Mexican specialties.

China Town
Nine Ting – Serving hot pot style Korean BBQ. Good clean fun, great for a party or gathering of friends.

Fette Sau – Not a Philly original but we love it just the same. Cafeteria style smokehouse BBQ. If you’re looking for atmosphere, this is your place.

Washington Square West
Percy Street BBQ – Texas style BBQ. Design and service is on point. They also have offer Yards Root Beer on draft. What else could you want?

Northeast Philadelphia
Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse – Now we’re talking real deal BBQ and an amazing deal. Monday’s offer all you can eat of their delicious, endless options.
